CPDT-KA, RVT

Manners for Mutts was started in 2003 by Staci Lemke. Her love for animals developed similar to that of many animal professionals, as a young child, with family pets. In high school, she raised project animals such as sheep, cows, and horses through the Future Farmers of America (FFA). She has worked with trainers of both Quarter horses and Thoroughbred racehorses.

Staci has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cal State Fullerton, where she also studied animal behavior. In addition, she has done volunteer work for the Irvine Animal Shelter. Staci is a retired Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who worked in the veterinary industry 25 years. In 2001, she began teaching puppy classes at the veterinary clinic. The classes became so popular, that many times there was a waiting list to get in. Wanting to help dog owners who could not attend her classes, Staci began conducting private, in-home training and Manners for Mutts was born!

Staci is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT – KA). She is also a member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), The Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians (SVBT), The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA). Staci is a certified CGC evaluator, a Family Dog Private Trainer and a Certified Family Dog Mediator. Staci regularly attends conferences, workshops, and seminars in an effort to increase her knowledge of canine behavior and training techniques.

Staci currently participates in Agility and Therapy work with her Australian Shepherd, Cord (Legend’s StarN Cordovan Cowboy, CGC, OA, OAJ, Certified Therapy dog). And is training her newest Australian Shepherd puppy, Rowdy (Allstar’s Rough and Rowdy).
